Is there any hope for my husband and me to buy a home with bad credit? We have terrible credit because of our past. The letters we have accumulated since we decided to grow has been paid, but we have not paid one of our old notes. We went to a credit counseling agency and they said that we owe so much money it would be better for us to simply declare bankruptcy. We fear that it would really prevent us from owning our own home someday. I have a credit score of five hundred and something. We are tired of renting. Please help!
