Business is primarily by banks now, but you can find smaller firms that do commercial work. I know that, for the most part, you want experience in the residential-commercial that is similar. Not something they hire for beginners. But, yes, there is a market. I suggest going residential first, many working for less money and better hours.
The market is saturated and becomes in this way during the boom of purchase. Unless you have very good connections it would be difficult to earn a living in the present situation.
